IndependenceHomestead Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 We have an 11 acre farm and would like to host beehives on it. We're just south of Leesburg off Lime Kiln Road. We maintained hives on our property in the past, but don't have time for beekeeping right now. So if anyone is interested in placing some hives on our property, we've be happy to host them. Our property is great for bees. The apiary location is behind 2 electric fences and 2 physical fences, so it's well protected from predators. Chickens range in the apiary, mitigating pest issues by disrupting the life cycle of hive beetles. The property is mostly wooded, and there is a large (5k sq. ft.) vegetable garden adjacent to the apiary. Of course we use no pesticides, herbicides, etc. anywhere on the farm. If you're interested in keeping hives on our property, please email us at farm@independencehomestead.com. Thanks, Adrienne & Harley Green Quote
