Mike Anderson Posted August 31, 2018 Report Posted August 31, 2018 Hello, I recently had some bees move in under part of my front door area. Although I'm not sure if they are honey bees or yellow jackets. Here is a video I took of them. Can someone please confirm the type? They are causing problems due to the proximity to my front door. I'll have to have them removed, but if they are honey bees I really don't want to kill them. Thank you, Mike Anderson Quote
Frank Posted August 31, 2018 Report Posted August 31, 2018 (edited) At the 12 sec mark of this film you can see very clearly an exiting insect with very wide spread antennae and the very "waspish" thorax to abdomen. I believe they are a hive of ground wasps. Edited August 31, 2018 by Frank Quote
Bret Fisher Posted September 7, 2018 Report Posted September 7, 2018 A couple of frames from the video appear to show fairly distinct black and yellow stripes. My guess would be yellow jackets. Some ideas on trapping them: 1 Quote
